How could I walk pass this letter opener with it's wonderful carved handle of I think a pug's head. The opener is made from a dark wood and I am uncertain of it's age the lady I bought it from thought it could be Georgian but I am uncertain that it is quite that old, I think it could be Early Victorian circa mid 1800's. The face of the pug is simply carved yet so animated with it's glass eyes. It measures approx 6&1/2" in length by 2" in width at it's widest point between his ears. It is in good condition with some very light cracks in the wood on the reverse, which would be expected with it's age.
